A.M.Engineering specialize in the design and manufacture of equipment for the earthmoving and forestry industries.
We are the provider of the original Tilting Quick Hitch and other excavator attachments. We are committed to selling tough, reliable and versatile equipment that will save the operator time and money.

Andrew Millwood has been self-employed for over 27 years and established A.M.Engineering 19 years ago and is the inventor of the original Tilting Quick Hitch & the Millwood Multi-Purpose Ripper-Mounder. He now has 4 employees and operates from a purpose built engineering workshop at Spreyton near Devonport, Tasmania, Australia.

Back in 1979 Andrew Millwood saw the need for an excavator to be able to operate effectively on sloping land in normally inaccessible areas. He was convinced that the machinery could be made more versatile if an attachment could be fitted to allow the bucket to be tilted.

He started developing his Tilting Quick hitch, a radical new hydraulic swivel attachment, which allowed the excavator buckets to be tilted up to 45 degrees to the left and right.
Lacking support for his new design, and seeing the need for this product, Andrew Millwood set up his own factory to market the Tilting Quick Hitch.

His perseverance and foresight proved worthwhile. Since then, the Tilting Quick Hitch has proved its reliability and effectiveness. It saves time and money. Operators can more easily work excavators in confined spaces and on slopes and the Tilting Quick Hitch has been in demand from businesses throughout Australia.

In 1981 Andrew won a Tasmanian Productivity Improvement Award for the Tilting Quick Hitch and also a Small Business Award from the (then) Tasmanian Development Authority, in the same year.
